Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve

Blaauwbosch Private Game Reserve is situated in the malaria free foothills of the Winterhoek Mountains, about 2,5 hours from Port Elizabeth on South Africa’s famed Garden Route. The accommodation at Main Camp comprises of spacious, thatched chalets – the dark wood furniture is complimented by crisp white linen. Enjoy the fabulous mountain views from the comfort of your private veranda. The recent addition of Kaai’s Camp has boosted the reserve’s capacity by 4 rooms.

You will find the communal dining area inviting – the thatched roof provides an African ambience and the elegant cane furniture and chandeliers remind one of the splendour of a bygone era. The emphasis is on good African flavours with a fresh, contemporary twist and paired with fine wines. Outside dining is also offered in the open air boma, where you can enjoy exciting meals under the stars, rounded off with a roaring fire for that essential bush feel.

The game drives are conducted by experienced rangers who will interpret the sights and sounds of the African bush to the uninitiated. Search not only for the Big 5 – lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo – but take a moment to enjoy the abundant birdlife on the reserve, as well as a number of rare floral species. Enjoy a sundowner drink at a lookout point before continuing your search, pausing only to contemplate the immense beauty of the region.
