Hog Hollow

Hog Hollow l South Africa l View from suite

Hog Hollow is located just outside of Plettenberg Bay on the Garden Route, on the edge of an indigenous forest. This is one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa – enjoy views of the mountains, valleys and forests from your private deck. The Main House is the communal gathering point, whether you’re relaxing in one of the lounges, enjoying a swim or simply taking in the breathtaking vistas. Breakfast is enjoyed in the dining room, and dinner is enjoyed either here or in the boma for a more casual affair.

The lodge has 16 suites and each has a private viewing deck overlooking the valleys and forest below. Decorated in earthy tones, the suites offer King size, extra length beds for your comfort. Special touches include fireplaces, hammocks and a hot water bottle on those chilly winter nights! Children are most welcome at Hog Hollow – they will be entertained by the children’s books and CD’s, and a special turndown is offered with a glass of milk and a gingerbread man!
Activities and tours offered in the area are endless – discuss your requirements for the day over breakfast and Hog Hollow will do the rest! From shopping and beaches, the region offers everything you could possibly think of. Highlights include boat trips up the Keurbooms river armed with a picnic basket, cycling in Harkerville Forest, a visit to the Elephant Sanctuary and cultural performances by a local Xhosa youth group.

Hog Hollow is accredited by Fair Trade in Tourism South Africa for their environmental and social initiatives. They have taken people from the local community and trained them to become lodge staff, whether working in the kitchen or front office, thus inspiring and motivating these people to aim higher and strive only for the best. On an environmental note, Hog Hollow strives to keep the 9ha property free of alien vegetation and also has a robust recycling programme in place.
