Jaci’s Safari Lodge and Tree Lodge are situated in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve, a short 1 hour flight from Johannesburg. The lodges are privately owned and exquisitely managed – the majority of the staff have been with them since the beginning! Built on the banks of the Marico River and overlooking a well established waterhole, Safari Lodge was built around an ancient termite mound. Safari Lodge features 8 rooms and 2 family suites – the clever use of stone, canvas and thatch certainly add to the bush feel. Dinners are served either in the restaurant, in the boma or out in the bush.
Tree Lodge is vibrant, colourful, modern – they truly reflect the passionate African culture. The rooms are built about 2 meters off the ground, overlooking the forest canopy – raised walkways link the rooms to the main area. The main lodge features a stunning lounge and bar area, as well as a pool and boma area for special dinners under the stars.
Madikwe is home to Africa’s Big 5 and you will have the opportunity to go and explore with an experienced ranger, whether it be on the game drives or on nature walks. Children are welcomed at Jaci’s, making this the perfect place to introduce your kids to the wonders of the African bush. Family safaris are offered where parents can join their children over 4 years on a game experience – jungle drives are offered for the little ones younger than 4 years, where they can learn all about bugs, beetles and toothbrush plants! Don’t think twice about bringing your family to Jaci’s for your next safari!
