Kicheche Mara Camp

Kicheche Mara Camp l nature walk

Kicheche Mara Camp is a tented camp situated in a prime wildlife area on the Aitong Plains of the northern Masai Mara. Sleeping a maximum of 22 guests, the camp offers a relaxed ambience. Each guest tent is comfortably furnished and feature en suite bathrooms with flush toilets. The majority of the tents are in secluded positions, but some are a bit closer together to cater for the needs of families. The camp chef ensures that fresh ingredients are flown in regularly in order to prepare the exquisite meals they are famous for – breads are freshly baked daily.

Morning and afternoon game drives are fascinating events where the experienced rangers show their worth in locating Africa’s Big 5. The open roof and sides mean you’re guaranteed to get the shot if you’re an avid photographer. Spend lazy days in the park with a picnic lunch or sundowner drinks. Escorted walks are also offered, which gives you an up-close view of the savannah plains and its smaller inhabitants – an armed ranger joins the walks to ensure guest safety.

Additional Information

Kicheche Mara Camp is actively involved in the local communities and provides support for 2 schools in the area, the Olkimitare Nursery School and the Aitong Primary Academy. The idea to support Olkimitare came from visiting Kicheche guests in 2004 – the school is not officially recognized by the government and therefore relies on the limited income from school fees to pay for books and general maintenance. The school had somewhat stagnated before Kicheche became involved but was fully rebuilt in 2007 and now hosts 70 students! By staying at Kicheche Camp, your donation will go a long way to ensure that the children receive a quality education and the school continues to thrive.
