Serena Hotels is a major sponsor of the Kwita Izina (Gorilla Naming) Ceremony, which takes place in Rwanda annually and celebrates the baby gorillas born in the previous 12 months. The hotel also supports orphaned families by donating linen and foodstuffs, as well as helping some of the older children complete secondary school and providing artisan training. The hotel also works with the Rwanda Red Cross and Gakoni Orphanage.
