Lukimbi Safari Lodge/Waterberg. The most southerly-located safari lodge in the Kruger National Park, Lukimbi Safari Lodge may also be the most romantic. The property combines exclusive access to 15,000 hectares of prime game territory with luxe accommodations and signature amenities like a wedding chapel, creating a snug refuge in the pristine wilderness.
The main lodge is a charming celebration of wooden accents and earth tones, vividly animated by carved wall panels depicting mythical creatures and traditional African patterns. Capitalising on its elevated riverfront location, the lodge has covered open decks from which guests can admire the view of the meandering river Lwakahle. The raised walkways also lead to the 16 suites nestled discreetly amidst the placid vegetation.
Spectacular game viewing abounds at Lukimbi. The heavily wooded landscape and lush riverine habitat attract both the white and black rhino as well as the rest of the Big 5 game. To relax and unwind at the end of the day, the lodge hosts wine tastings where local wines take centrestage and guests can sample a variety of estates' offerings before dinner. In the summer, there are special Swazi evenings that showcase the culture and history of the Swazi people; guests can even borrow traditional costumes to wear for the evening.
