Mweya Lodge

Entrance | Mweya Lodge | Uganda

Mweya Lodge, in Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoys a stunning location - high up on the Mweya Peninsula overlooking the Kazinga Channel that joins Lakes George and Edward. Although more like a hotel in style, the lodge's position more than makes up for the slightly unimaginative room design. Where better to sit after a long dusty game drive, than on the veranda of the lodge, with an ice cold gin & tonic, gazing out over the view…

Additional Information

Mweya is the location of the park headquarters and also the base for the pontoon boat trips on the Kazinga Channel. You can wander around the lodge and see a groups of habituated Banded Mongoose foraging in the gardens, or take a set of binoculars to the pool deck and spy on the hippos, elephants and buffaloes wallowing way down in the river below you.
