Tintswalo at Waterfall/Pretoria. Situated in the 200-hectare Waterfall Country & Equestrian Estate, the lodge has a commanding 360° view of the surrounding verdant countryside. In particular, the rooms on the top floor have floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto the polo fields and, in the distance, the magnificent Magaliesberg Mountains. Tintswalo at Waterfall houses only 16 intimate suites, each named and decorated after different breeds of horses found worldwide. From Arabian thoroughbreds to polominos, these famous breeds are represented in the individually commissioned paintings of the respective horse in each suite, as well as the suite's colour scheme and ornamental details.
For guests who want a little pampering, there is a Vital Source Spa with a group treatment room, two full treatment rooms, a Vichy shower, hydro bath and steam and sauna facilities. The Feedroom offers sophisticated dining options in an intimate space that seats just 30 guests. Al Fresco dining is available, while indoors a stately fireplace and dark wood accents create a distinguished setting in which the chef and his team serve a hearty contemporary repast created from only the freshest local ingredients.
The region's famous game reserves are no more than two hours' drive away, making this the perfect pitstop on the way to or from a safari experience. There's plenty of room here for everyone to catch their breath and luxuriate in an atmosphere of quiet gentility.
