Windhoek

Strongly influenced by its German connections, Windhoek is multicultural, organised and the nerve centre from which the country beats. The international airport is located some 30km to the east and its an easy journey in either direction.  We often recommend a night in the city on arrival to acclimatise: there are a couple of fantastic guesthouses to choose from. If you do stay over and like your steaks, then don't miss out on Joe's Beer Garden where the game steaks and potjiekos (pronounce that!) are legendary...  This will certainly start you off well on the famed Namibian hospitality.
