John and Jacquie Rosenthal

With the crew at Amangwane Camp | Kosi Bay, Kwa-Zulu Natal

After travelling on the Face Africa Gorillas & Gameparks Tour to Uganda and Rwanda in 2005, John and Jacquie Rosenthal decided that they wanted to explore more of the African continent. They approached Tim to design a Trip of a Lifetime to South Africa. They wanted to enjoy a two centre safari, some time on the beach, diving off the coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal, and importantly they wanted to visit a number of local community initiatives - schools, projects etc - to continue the great work they started in Uganda...

THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME

ITINERARY

  • 3 days - Mpila camp, Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve
  • 3 days - Kosi Bay, northern KZN coast
  • 3 Days - Tembe Elephant Park, northern KZN safari
  • 5 days - Rocktail Bay, northern KZN coast line

The itinerary may appear to be a fairly standard African safari adventure - but this was different!

WHY?

- The organisation ran like clockwork. It was hassle free and smooth from start to finish. This was due to meticulous planning by Face Africa.

- The guide and cook who accompanied us for the 6 days in Umfolosi and Kosi Bay, brought the country to life in dazzling colours and provided us with fantastic food and plenty of it. They were, without doubt, as good as it gets, knowledgeable, considerate, helpful, good fun and couldn't do enough for us. It was like being on holiday with your best friends and some.

- An unbelievable trip to beautiful Mozambique. Swimming with whale sharks, as well as dolphins, was out of this world, but to see a humpback whale with two young ones during the same trip, made it exceptional.

- A diving experience on a pristine reef, with no other dive boats within 50 miles was an enthusiasts dream, then breakfast on the beach under the trees with fellow divers and their partners - sublime!

- Experiencing the real Kwa-Zulu Natal on the campsite of Kosi Bay was an insight into the 'real' Africa, with its friendly people and indomitable children.

- Accommodation at Mpila, Tembe and Rocktail was truly first class with good food and clean, comfortable 'tents'.

All in all, a holiday experience never to be forgotten!

Thank you!

John Rosenthal
