Mokoro Sunset | Okavango Delta | Botswana

Botswana has been realising its potential as of late. Since independence in 1966, its huge reserves of diamonds have pulled together a proud and progressive nation.

It is its natural jewels that attract most tourist attention and none shines brighter in the Capricorn sun than the Okavango Delta. Jump in a dugout canoe and use this unique vantage to observe the smorgasbord of wildlife and plants that the water sustains.

Additional Information

In contrast to the waterways of the Okavango, much of the rest of Botswana is arid. Test the limits of your survival instincts and venture into the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. If your thirst is not quenched, Chobe National Park is a vast area with huge concentrations and variety of wildlife - especially along the Chobe River with its famous elephant herds.

Some of Africa's most stunning lodges and accommodation are found in Botswana and it's true that the country's tourist industry caters especially well for luxury travellers. Away from this welcome hospitality, it is an interesting juxtaposition that so many places remain raw - offering authentic views of wild Africa. This gem remains uncut you might argue!
